Dredging the oblique ridge segment

More multi beam surveying, and two dredges.

Peridotite Mountain- ~30 km long

Peridotite Mountain- ~30 km long

We continued with our objective to map the oblique ridge segment and have now completed 6 survey lines within that segment and everything is looking peridotite. We dredged a small fault block near the ridge axis and recovered peridotite and we dredged a talus slope on the next peridotite mountain to the one we dredged last night and recovered a large collection of harzburgites, dunites and even a single gabbro in dredge 18.

Dredge 18: Lherzolites, harzburgites, dunites and one gabbro

Next stop is to deploy Sentry at 4am to map the transfer zone between the normal ridge segment axis and the ridge axis in the oblique segment.
